Vocational Training for handicapped persons
The objective of this program is to make handicapped youths a part of the national labor force making them able to rise independently ensuring their human rights. In this program they are given a vocational training in a way to develop skills and integrate them in to the society.
This is conducted at eight vocational training centers in five main districts.

Required Qualifications:-
- Age between 16 and 35
- Should be a person with below mentioned difficulties.
- Hearing and speaking impairments
- Mobility disabilities
- Visually handicapped
- Mentally handicapped
- Convulsion
- Mental disorders
- Multi disabilities(a medical certificate obtained from a registered medical officer should be needed when necessary)
- The person should be able to do basic daily activities.
Selection Criteria
- Applications should be obtained from the residential divisions’ social services officer or development officer (social services).
- The completed applications should be handed over to the residential divisions’ social services officer or development officer (social services).
- Qualified candidates will be selected after an interview held by the Social Services Department after reception of the applications.
Facilities and offers
- Free accommodation, Medical facilities and food
- Trainees are offered rupees 150/- allowance daily.
- Free uniforms, other clothes, foot wares and sanitary accessories.
- A set of tools worth maximum rupees 25000/- will be given free to the candidates who finishes the training successfully for self-employment.
- Extracurricular activities
- Making opportunities for national level arts and spots events.
- Leadership training, sign language training, orientation and mobility programs and trips for fun.
- Coordinating for vocational opportunities for the candidates who finishes the training successfully.
